Fusion Centers are quickly becoming one of the hottest topics in information sharing. As more and more centers are deployed across the country, the need becomes greater to provide consistent guidelines and operating policies to avoid repeating the classic system ‘smokestack’ problems of the past. This session will discuss what strides have been made in this regard, and what pos- sibilities exist to leverage the fusion con- cept in the pursuit of a national frame- work. The Information Sharing Environment (ISE) is a key initiative that is looking to the fusion center concept as a primary interface point to state and local data, and for the first time estab- lishing a strategy for sharing and ana- lyzing terrorism data across the entire nation. The session will include a dis- cussion of the ISE and what it means to the state and local community Presenters: Sue Reingold, Deputy Program Manager for the Information Sharing Environment, Office of the Director for National Intelligence; Colonel Bart R. Johnson, Vice Chairman, Global Justice Information Sharing Initiative
