The Zigbee cRIO Module – SA1802IN0025 module has been specifically built for the NI (National Instruments) CompactRIO model to facilitate communication between two or more units; it follows the Zigbee Alliance Communications Standards.
It has been designed to access data remotely where the communication infrastructure is poor or non-existent. The module has been built as a hot swappable component to the chassis thus ensuring ease of use.
The SA1802IN0025 excels at mesh networking and its use of low power digital radios (based on the IEEE 802.15.4-2003), larger range (via use of multiple nodes) and reliability.
The SA1802IN0025 uses Ad-Hoc on demand distance vector to create a low-speed ad-hoc network of nodes which communicate via a clustered network. The Zigbee module can directly connect to another CompactRIO (also containing the SA1802IN0025) either directly or via a star/mesh/peer network. The SA1802IN0025 adheres to the Zigbee 2007 stack, the module can also communicate directly or indirectly with a sensor/indicator or 3rd party hardware which contains a Zigbee module. An end user can directly interface with the system via a terminal.
